Students Offering Support (SOS) is a youth-driven charity that ‘elevates education and ignites leaders’, locally and globally. Since 2008, our programs have been delivered on more than twenty-five campuses across Canada and 12 countries around the world, supporting an engaging 10,000 past volunteers and supporting an estimated 250,000 youth globally. Our most popular programs include: Exam Aids, Outreach Trips, Textbooks for Change, and the MCAT for Social Impact Scholarship!
Our Start Right Workshops provides students with the tools and resources to ease the transition for high school students choosing to attend a post-secondary institution, taking a gap year, or enter the working world.
Role Description:
As a facilitator, you will be responsible for facilitating the Start Right Workshops and experience is the best teacher. As a current post-secondary student, you are already equipped with the tools that you need to become a Start Right facilitator. You probably have an idea of the kinds of things and concepts you would have appreciated back in the day.
Responsibilities:
- Complete SOS’s Start Right Facilitator Training
- Offer your own post-secondary experiences with students in a professional setting
- Facilitate Start Right Workshops in partnering high schools
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Be currently enrolled in Post-Secondary
- Provide a resume
- Be well-versed in public speaking
- Comfortable teaching and leading in a classroom environment
